Wyndham revenue rises on timeshare sales

“Timeshare is going like gangbusters”
Wyndham Worldwide Corp. reported Wednesday its second quarter income was up 28 percent to $96 million, or 52 cents per share, from $75 million, or 37 cents per share, during the same period a year ago.

Wyndham, which operates 10 hotel brands including Ramada and Days Inn, says revenue rose 15 percent to $1.1 billion, in line with analysts’ estimates.

Wyndham CEO Stephen Holmes told Reuters, “Timeshare is going like gangbusters.” Its Orlando-based vacation ownership division reported a 21 percent increase in revenue to $629 million. The company credited its marketing, a strong performance by the sales staff and continued strength in transaction pricing.
